Account Deletion Policy for Ishtai

At Ishtai, we respect your decision to manage your personal data. This policy outlines the process for deleting your account and what happens to your data upon deletion.

1. How to Delete Your Account

You can initiate the account deletion process directly within the Ishtai mobile application:

Open the Ishtai App on your device.
Navigate to your **Profile Settings**.
Look for an option such as "Account Settings" or "Privacy Settings."
Select **"Delete Account"** or "Close Account."
You will be guided through a series of prompts to confirm your decision, which may include re-entering your password or verifying your identity.
You may be asked to provide feedback on why you are deleting your account, which is optional but helps us improve our services.

2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account?

Upon successful initiation of your account deletion request:

**Profile Deactivation:** Your profile will immediately become invisible to other users. You will no longer appear in search results or suggestions.
**Data Anonymization/Deletion:** We will begin the process of deleting or anonymizing your personal information from our active databases. This includes your name, age, email, phone number, profile pictures, and match preferences.
**Chat History:** Your chat conversations with other users may remain visible to those users in their chat history, but your profile information linked to those messages will be anonymized or marked as a deleted user.
**Data Retention (Legal & Operational):** While we aim for prompt deletion, some data may be retained for a limited period due to legal obligations (e.g., tax, audit, security, fraud prevention) or legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing our Terms and Conditions). Any retained data will be kept secure and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
**No Recovery:** Once your account is deleted, it cannot be recovered. All your matches, messages, and profile data will be permanently removed (subject to the retention policy mentioned above).

Important Considerations Before Deleting:

Deleting your account is a permanent action. All your matches and conversations will be lost.
Ensure you have saved any important information you wish to keep before proceeding with deletion.
If you have any active subscriptions, please manage them through your app store settings (Google Play Store or Apple App Store) before deleting your account, as deleting your Ishtai account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed by the app stores.

3. Data Retained Post-Deletion

In accordance with our Privacy Policy, we may retain certain data for:

**Legal Compliance:** To comply with legal obligations, such as tax and accounting laws.
**Fraud Prevention and Security:** To prevent fraud, abuse, and ensure the security of our services and other users.
